Ginsberg Center The mission of the University of Michigan’s Ginsberg Center is “to engage students, faculty, and community members in learning together through community service and civic participation in a diverse democratic society.” SPH Research Centers The University of Michigan School of Public Health has over 30 distinct research centers that work to better understand everything from genetic disorders to social determinants of health to risk science. Detroit Community-Academic Urban Research Center This research center at the University of Michigan School of Public Health utilizes community-based participatory research in Detroit to study the social determinants of health, and the use that information to implement sound interventions. Michigan Public Health Training Center MPHTC provides hands-on training experiences in state and local health departments for students to better learn how to protect the public’s health. Innovation in Action Innovation in Action is a nine-month competition held each year at the School of Public Health where interdisciplinary student teams design novel approaches to identified public health concerns. Teams pitch their ideas to investors at the end of the competition, with the winning teams receiving financial support to continue their projects.
